The Holy Sacraments and Devotional Services

Our religious services and lecture programs continue to be presented free of charge at historic Besant Lodge (street parking only). Your generous contribution is welcome and very much appreciated.

Celebration of the Holy Eucharist

11:00 am
High Mass and Homily

8:00 pm
Low Mass

Ministered by ordained clergy, the Celebration resembles the Western (Roman) rite. Ecclesia Gnostica practices open Communion: all who wish to receive the Holy Eucharist may do so. Sunday High Mass includes a homily by Bishop Hoeller, and is followed by coffee and refreshments. Wednesday evening Low Mass is solemn and intimate.

Benediction of the Most Holy Sacrament
A Service of Healing

A Service of Healing

A Service of Devotion to
Our Lady Sophia

Each service is less than 1 hour in duration, ministered by ordained clergy.

Benediction of the Most Holy Sacrament is a devotional ceremony, the worship of Christ in the Eucharist.

The Healing Service includes an Angelic Invocation and the administration of Holy Unction. Holy Communion is also administered.

Vespers is an evening prayer service using one of four liturgical texts, unique to Ecclesia Gnostica: The Common Vespers, The Mandaean Vespers, The Vespers of Sophia & Mary Magdalen, and The Vespers of Martyrs and the Departed.

The Sophia Service is particularly unique, comprised of a mystical, devotional liturgy and invocation of the Holy Mother and Consoler, the Divine Feminine, Holy Wisdom.

Regular Morning and Evening devotions are conducted in the Chapel, lasting 30-45 minutes, and may include a silent prayer period and the administration of Holy Communion.
